Counselor III Lead

Department: New Beginning - Men
Location: Lakeland, FL

Position Description

This is a supervisory level position responsible for the oversight of clinical and therapeutic services for adults with substance abuse disorders as at New Beginning for Men. Position provides overall direction and oversight to staff members.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision to assigned personnel, which may include: case managers, counselors, and support staff including completion of employee performance evaluations in accordance with agency policy.
  • Directs and coordinates provision of services to persons served ensuring that persons served are delivered quality services in a professional manner.
  • Provides ongoing clinical training to the New Beginning for Men staff.
  • Comprehends all licensing regulations including 65D30 Florida Statutes as they apply to each program, CARF requirements, and Tri-County Human Services, Inc. Policies and Procedures pertinent to all compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinates the facility’s Quality Assessment and Improvement Program for JASA.
  • Assures that all files are reviewed, and clinical documentation is compliant with licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Provides leadership and clinical direction during clinical staff meetings and case staffings.
  • Performs other reasonable and related duties as assigned.

  2. Counselors
  3. Support Staff
  4. Peers
  5. Human Services Technicians

Minimum Trainings and Experience

  • Requires Master’s Degree in field related to Human Services from an accredited college or university, which include but not limited to: Social Work; Clinical Psychology; Counseling; Rehabilitative Counseling; Counseling Education; Education; Criminal Justice; or Ministry and preferably certified as CAP by the Florida Certification Board. Two (2) years of full-time experience in an addictions or mental health treatment setting. Clinical supervision by the Director of Residential equaling 1 hour per week.
