Health Care Educator

Location: Bartow, FL

Position Expectation

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. 1.                Plan, organize, and direct health education programs for women Modules will focus on promoting good health and preventing disease, but they must also deal with social, behavioral, legal, and economic issues. Each module will include, but not be limited to: pre-test, education materials including hand outs, media presentations, and demonstration models, and post-tests.
  1. 2.                Set up and maintain training records containing the pre and post test results, individual progress notes, and other records as deemed necessary.


  1. 3.                Prepare and distribute educational and informational materials on public health issues such as smoking, immunization, drug abuse, and AIDS for women at various program settings. A minimum of 10 sessions to be held weekly.


  1. 4.                Gather statistical data necessary to complete monthly, semi annual and annual progress reports.
  1. 5.                   Serve as a member of the treatment team for the residential facilities, addressing the overall health needs of the therapeutic community as well as drawing attention to the individual health needs of persons served as appropriate.
  1. 6.                    Serve as a health "mentor" to women, providing formal/ informal counseling as indicated, and providing health care referrals as necessary.
  1. 7.                    Maintain records in accordance with TCHS, CARF, Federal, State, and Local Health Care Educator

Minimum Training and Experience


Graduation from an accredited LPN, RN, or health education program is preferred. Experience teaching, with a strong health care background may be substituted.
